Come Thursday morning, I fly off to Japan, losing a day and likely my sanity on the flight. I'll be there for a year, and will likely have sporadic if actually present internet access. The widthdrawal will be painful, but I believe a cute Japanese girl will help me through my coming ordeal. This cure is not guaranteed to be present, but I plan on obtaining one, of course through legitimate means.

There isn't much point to this thread, other than to say that I'm going to be in Japan, but you aren't.

Where are you living and how is accommodation paid for? As I remember, the cost of boarding in Tokyo is somewhat frightening. Then again the Aussie dollar was pretty bad back in January compared to its current level.

I'm living in Sophia University's international housing. The Azalea House, I believe. It comes out to roughly $600/month for a single. This is, of course, excluding food and transportation. Last time I checked, it was almost 119 yen to the dollar, so it's not too bad, in spite of the dollar not being all that strong.

On a related note, I will be getting a digital camera (oh yes, I will), and I will be taking pictures from everywhere I visit. As suggested by my former roommate, I shall attempt to give everyone a look, if you will, of the female population of every major area I visit. How successful I will be, I do not know, but I'll try for all of you. I would be remiss if I did not.

Now I just gotta decide whether to get a camera here or in Japan. There is a better selection there, but all the menus will be in Japanese...

Well, I have 12 hours, so we'll just have to figure it out once I'm there. With my sporadic internet access, we'll see just how well I manage my time.


I may do JET directly afterwards, or maybe teach in Korea, I don't really know. It all depends on how this year goes. As for pictures, until I figure out why my USB ports hate me, pictures will be few and far between.


Depending on when you go, I may still be there, since the school year ends in July. And if you or your friend are cute, and of course you must be, since your name says so, then you should in fact visit me.

Hopefully I'll be able to travel all over the country, and I'll be taking lots of pictures. We'll see how things go...
