Post Post subject: GTO Boxset! Hurray!

So, it's finally here! To be released in early December, according to my amazon.ca link ( http://tinyurl.com/q3e8 ). Ah, finally I can get GTO in boxed goodness. Mr. Green

Just a heads up for anyone else who was waiting for boxiness.

I was gonna buy the 9 or so GTO dvds already released about a month ago, but at the same time I noticed the boxset of the first 5 dvds that still wasn't released. My first thought was "What the hell? How long does it take to do some art for the box and some new art for the dvd case slips, especially when they're up to volume 10 on the normal releases?". My second thought was "Ah screw it, I can't resist these kind of boxsets/special editions/etc., even if I don't give a fuck about whatever extras they might include. Guess I'll wait until it comes out to buy the dvds..."

Much much later, I had my third thought- " Why...why is it that I think boxsets and platinum editions, aka Re-Releases, are better for DVDs? Even when I absolutely loathed...despised...(insert educated-superior sounding synonym for hate here) the idea of the Sandman library collection, aka 6th reprinting, and spent so much effort winning auctions for the hardcover 1st print of each book?"

Someone should really figure out the answer to the third question, because it's really bugging the crap outta me.

Yeah, I saw that today and inwardly smiled. Another gosh-darn box for the purchasing, it sure is an endless job being an anime-whore, not to mention straining on the wallet.

This whole box business is getting out of hand. Within the last few months I have purcahsed boxes for Love Hina, Ai Yori, Chobits, Onegai Teacher, FLCL, Kare Kano, Full metal panic and Sailor Moon Series 1 (for £3 so don't laugh). And being the baka that I am am, I'm about to order more boxes for Escaflowne, Lain, Last exile, Rurouni Kenshin, Haibane Renmei... and now GTO.

I have more boxes than I have dvds to fit in them and thats no lie. Craziness.

I suppose "has" is kind of a relative term--they're not shipping it until December, either. Mr. Green
