Post subject: 4th of July Posted Wed Jun 23, 2004 4:15 pm
The 4th of july is coming as we all know and i plan on shooting off fireworks late into the night keeping my neighbors up .
Anyone else going to have some fun like me on the 4th?

I am either going to Annapolis to watch some fireworks, or i am going to see my grandmother in boston.

Boston has the best fireworks shows on the 4th...
but I am in cali now, so looks like i'll be going to a coworkers place for a bbq, and i'll have to bring the secret family recipe, yellow fluffy jello.

you people are not going to shoot off fire works yourself i mean thats the greatest part when you have a roman candle in your hand aiming it at someone and watching them run and scream

I take it you haven't seen the video of a couple guys doing that... one gets under the guy's shirt and is pinned against his flesh. It looked really, really, really painful.
My plans are to head off to eastern Washington and hang around with the extended family.... as usual. Lots of water skiing, sun and fun.

Headed up north to VA where part of my family has a few cabins on a quiet creek(big enough to canoe and go swimming with a few rapids) in the mountains. They always get a couple of thousand dollars
in fireworks. Last time I accidently ignited a mortar so it fired wrong and blew up 10 feet above the ground, we all dived to hit the ground so as to not be scorched by hundreds of burning cinders flying through the air at head level(and catch our hair on fire or worse). I put the next one in the tube right the next time. Best vacation of the year usually, then again I did fly to England to see my brother so its hard to top that. It also doubles as sort of a family reunion on my mom's dad's side.

My plans are somewhat different, as Canada Day is July 1st. So, fireworks will be enjoyed on Thursday, and Friday morning, i'm going camping for the weekend..renting some canoes and going to some secluded parts in a local provincial park, on the Canadian Shield (yay geography!) It should be a blast, there's about 8 of us, some of which have never seen wilderness before (one's from Kyoto, one's from Tokyo). I can't wait to give them their bear survival lesson...
